Memorial to Konstantin Konik to be unveiled near University of Tartu Library

On Friday, 13 October at 15, the city of Tartu will open a memorial to Konstantin Konik, a statesman and a long-time employee of the University of Tartu, near the University of Tartu Library.  

Konstantin Konik was a member of the Estonian Salvation Committee and Minister of Education and Social Affairs. He started working at the University of Tartu in 1920 as a Professor of Surgery and was the first dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the head of the Wound Clinic. The memorial will be located near his former home. 

The authors of the memorial are sculptor Paul Mänd and architect Andres Mänd.
