On 27 October from 13–18, the University of Tartu development conference “A university for us, Estonia and the world” took place at the assembly hall of the university's main building and online to initiate a discussion on topics important for society and the university. The discussion were be based on the new University of Tartu strategic plan approved in June.

Heart health study has the required number of participants and moves to the next stage
In the genetic study on heart health led by the University of Tartu Estonian Biobank, the required number of participants – just over 2,500 gene donors – have now expressed their willingness to take part. With their help, researchers aim to determine whether heart disease can be more effectively prevented with cholesterol-lowering treatment based on genetic risk assessment.

In June, all interested are invited to communal work in the Maarjavälja experimental area (between Viljandi road and the University of Tartu Physicum) and at Jaamamõisa stream.
Robert Ranisch's presentation on artificial intelligence in medicine
On Monday, 2 June at 16:15 an English-language colloquium will take place at the University of Tartu Delta Centre (Narva mnt 18–1008) and on Zoom, discussing the adoption of generative AI in medicine as a large-scale social experiment. The presentation will highlight the need for ethical conditions that support responsible and gradual implementation.

Sexuality, menstruation and motherhood: Estonian Women’s Health Study makes women’s voices heard
Today, the University of Tartu Women’s Clinic publishes the results of the Estonian Women’s Health Study, which, among other topics, provides insights into women’s sexuality, menstrual health, menopause, and attitudes towards motherhood. Representatives of the research team introduce the results at the webinar on Monday, 26 May, at 15:00.
